Expression Through Alcohol Art
Alcohol art is a relatively new form of expression which prompts many folks to ask, "How much alcohol do you drink when you paint?" The answer is "none" in my case. Perhaps a word of explanation is due. Alcohol art is a form of painting done on a special kind of non-absorbent paper called "yupo paper". The paints used are something akin to the ink found in a Sharpy pen. The paint is typically laid with a dropper and then spread using alcohol and either a brush or a sponge or blown with a straw.

Rich Colors
Alcohol Art is watercolor's more expressive cousin. The colors are bright and bold and can be layered to create unique texture and design. The soft elegance found in water color is replaced with brighter and more dynamic colors to create beauty.

Distinctive Style
Dave's work typically involves all the canvas being used; no negative or empty space. All color is laid and blown with a straw rather than applied using a brush or other typical painting techniques.
